What are AMRs?

However, AMRs are not the right solution for every transport task. In highly predictable environments with fixed transport routes, conveyors or AGVs may provide a stronger business case. For example, when parcels are transported continuously between the same two processing areas, a fixed conveyor system can often provide higher throughput with less operational complexity.
Similarly, AGVs may be better suited to repetitive transport tasks that follow predefined routes. As with any robotics investment, selecting the right technology depends on the operational requirements and the wider parcel handling system.
