BEUMER autover® Independent Carrier System
The BEUMER autover® is an independent carrier system (ICS), in which the intelligent autoca® carrier - or cart - provides accurate, gentle and reliable baggage handling.
BEUMER AUTOVER® – THE CART-BASED ICS
The BEUMER autover® Independent Carrier System is a cart-based ICS that serves as a cost-effective baggage handling solution tailored to the needs of small to medium-sized airports with baggage handling requirements of up to 4,800 bags/hour.
Each intelligent cart carries a single piece of baggage on a simple, passive rail system, delivering the benefits of ICS technology in a scalable and affordable way.
This innovative solution combines a passive rail system with multiple independent BEUMER autoca® carts, enabling a seamless and 100% traceable transport of single baggage items at all times.
Designed to optimise space utilisation, this independent carrier system can be configured for the smallest possible floor-space while still ensuring high-speed and gentle handling of each item of baggage and its timely and accurate delivery to the intended make-up destination.

BEUMER autover® is a system that grows with the airport. Unlike conventional conveyor-based baggage handling systems, this cart-based ICS evolves as airport operations change. Expansion is straightforward: simply add carts and update the system software. No structural modifications are required. This makes it an ideal choice for airports with limited space or changing operational requirements.

100% track & trace ensures compliance with stringent security requirements while reducing mis-sorts and short-shipped baggage.
Low Maintenance as the rail has no moving parts, motors, or sensors, only a steel rail with power and data cables. Maintenance is performed on the carts in a dedicated area, minimising downtime.
Scalable capacity increase by simply adding more carts. New loading/unloading points require only a new position inside the route map.
Lower operational expenditure (OPEX) than conventional conveyor systems thanks to energy savings, fewer spare parts and reduced staffing needs.
Oversized baggage handling with multiple cart sizes within the same system eliminates the need for manual handling or having to install a separate line for special baggage.
Data-driven BHS operations with built-in monitoring in each cart, enabling predictive and condition-based maintenance.
A CONNECTOR ACROSS THE AIRPORT
The cart-based ICS is not only a baggage sorting system but also an efficient transporter and connector between terminals, baggage halls, and remote facilities. Airports with existing conveyor systems can integrate the BEUMER autover® ICS without replacing legacy systems, using the autover® to bridge long distances with minimal maintenance.
