Beckum, Germany, 5 November 2026 – BEUMER Group, a global leader in automated baggage handling and intralogistics solutions, is expanding its engagement with Belden to further enhance the security, reliability and operational transparency of airport baggage handling systems. BEUMER Group’s cybersecurity solutions for baggage handling systems will make use of Belden’s advanced network solutions to further strengthen the support to airport operators in meeting increasingly demanding operational and regulatory requirements.

Cybersecurity has become a critical part of infrastructure design and operation in today’s airport operation. New regulations, including the European Union’s NIS2 Directive and the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA), place greater emphasis on managing cybersecurity risks. To help airports meet these evolving requirements, BEUMER Group has expanded its airport offering with additional layers of security and transparency.

At the centre of the collaboration is Belden’s wireless technologies and Network Access Control (NAC) solution (Network Access Control Software), which provides comprehensive network access control and visibility across connected devices. The solution monitors network activity supports secure maintenance procedures and helps prevent unauthorised devices from accessing critical operational systems. The technology helps airport operators gain greater transparency across their technological infrastructure while reducing cybersecurity risks and simplifying network administration.

The collaboration between BEUMER Group and Belden demonstrates how leading technology providers can work together in creating solutions that are secure by design, operationally transparent and ready for the evolving demands of the aviation industry. By integrating advanced networking, cybersecurity and automation technologies, the technology from the two companies will provide airports with the foundation to build the resilient infrastructure needed for the future generations of baggage handling systems.
