“Retrofit of most critical conveying equipment in the material flow” by André Tissen

Retrofit is playing an increasingly important role in material flow, especially in most critical conveying equipment. With systems that are always up to date, you as an operator achieve, among other things, higher performance, and availability of the plant. In addition, energy consumption is minimized and working conditions become more ergonomic. But you also get new functions and improved plant utilization.

That is why we offer our customers conversion projects and modernizations – this applies to existing conveyor systems and clinker transport systems, including those of other brands. André Tissen, our Director of Sales Customer Support shows in this video why rebuilding and modernization are worthwhile and what advantages the user has. He also describes realized customer projects to explain how we support our customers in converting chain bucket elevators or bringing belt bucket elevators and clinker pan conveyors to a state of the art-level.

One example of a successful retrofit is the Turkish cement manufacturer Göltas Cemento, who wanted to modernize its kiln. This also meant that the capacity of the conveyor system, a chain steel cell conveyor that transports the clinker from the kiln cooler to the silo, had to be increased from 250 to 400 tons per hour. We opted for the belt version, which achieves twice the conveying speed. This allowed us to design the plant with an identical width at increased capacity. And the operator retained the belt bridge and the cantilever steel structure and the concrete foundations.
