Job Description

At BEUMER Group, we design and deliver world-class automated material handling and baggage handling systems for some of the world's leading airports. We are currently seeking an experienced Project Quality Manager to join our team supporting the Auckland Airport project.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the successful delivery of a major airport infrastructure project, leading quality assurance, quality control and compliance activities throughout installation, commissioning and project handover. Alongside your quality leadership responsibilities, you will also provide oversight of project warehouse operations, material control and logistics activities.

What You'll Be Doing

As the Project Quality Manager, you will be the project's quality lead, ensuring all work meets customer requirements, regulatory obligations and BEUMER Group quality standards.

Key responsibilities include:

Quality Management

  • Develop, implement and maintain Project Quality Assurance Plans (QAPs) and Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
  • Lead quality assurance and quality control activities across the project lifecycle.
  • Conduct and coordinate installation quality inspections to verify compliance with specifications, drawings and customer requirements.
  • Manage non-conformance reports (NCRs), root cause investigations and corrective actions.
  • Support FATs, SATs, audits, inspections and project reviews.
  • Monitor project quality performance and prepare quality reports for project stakeholders.
  • Support customer acceptance activities and project handover documentation.
  • Follow up and manage Level 6 (L6) inspections and quality findings.

Supplier & Material Quality

  • Support supplier quality activities and supplier performance reviews.
  • Conduct incoming goods inspections and verify deliveries for damage, completeness and specification compliance.
  • Support First Article Inspections (FAI) and supplier quality documentation reviews.
  • Ensure full traceability of quality records and materials throughout the project.

Warehouse & Logistics Oversight

  • Oversee project warehouse and material control activities.
  • Support inventory management, stock integrity and material traceability.
  • Maintain oversight of material movements within the BEUMER Warehouse Management System.
  • Coordinate inbound and outbound material flows, including receiving, storage, staging and dispatch activities.
  • Support logistics activities aligned with installation and commissioning schedules.

Health, Safety & Wellbeing

  • Promote and maintain a strong safety culture across all project activities.
  • Ensure compliance with New Zealand health and safety legislation, airport requirements and BEUMER Group standards.
  • Participate in safety inspections, audits, incident investigations and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications

What We're Looking For

We're looking for a quality professional who enjoys working in a dynamic project environment and can confidently engage with customers, suppliers and project teams.

Essential

  • Minimum 5 years' experience in Quality Assurance, Quality Management, Quality Control or Quality Engineering.
  • Experience working within engineering, construction, manufacturing, automation, infrastructure or industrial project environments.
  • Demonstrated experience managing NCRs, root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Experience developing or maintaining quality plans, inspection processes and quality documentation.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and influence project teams across multiple functions.

Desirable

  • Airport, baggage handling systems, logistics automation or major infrastructure project experience.
  • Supplier quality management and audit experience.
  • Experience within installation or commissioning environments.
  • ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems knowledge.
  • Lead Auditor or Internal Auditor qualifications.
  • Warehouse, inventory control or material management experience within a project environment.
