Ship Loader

We offer two different systems for ship loading. Coarse bulk materials, such as clinker or lumpy ores, are loaded into bulk carriers via belt conveyor systems and a closed, vertical telescopic tube - for dust free and efficient transport. The loading of powdered goods is handled by fully enclosed loading machines – a remarkably eco-friendly solution.

Transport of bulk material with ships

Bulk material has to be conveyed in large quantities. Building materials, coal, cereals, fodder, mineral compounds or products of the chemical industry are often loaded at the production location in suitable vehicles and transported as bulk cargo to other locations.

It is particularly important to provide technical loading and handling systems designed specifically for the product and adapted to the installation conditions. When dimensioning these systems, characteristics of the goods like bulk density, product temperature as well as flow properties are to be taken into account. Other important criteria are the loading capacity, weight and volume monitoring and dust-free, environmentally friendly operation.

  • Dust-free and environmentally friendly operation
  • High compatibility and flexibility
  • Automatic dispatch control

Ship loader technology

The most common types of ship loaders are the stationary ship loader with telescopic boom, a ship loader with luffing and slewing gear and the ship loader with only a luffing gear. Due to space restrictions, it might be required that the ship loader is fed by a bucket elevator.

Depending on the material loaded, the standard troughed belt conveyor on the ship loader boom can also be replaced by a pneumatic conveying line or a screw conveyor.
