Job Description

 

The Site Manager will be responsible for all aspects of the installation works of sortation/material handling systems and airport baggage systems, including Health & Safety, Quality and Progress.

You will be responsible for planning and co-ordination of equipment delivery, in line with the project schedule, ensuring installation is on schedule and that the quality standards are met. You will be responsible for the management of BEUMER Supervisors and our approved sub-contractors ensuring effective communication on site, deliveries etc are requested in a timely manner, site cleanliness is adhered to, and installation is on target.

  • Planning and co-ordination of equipment/project delivery, in line with project schedule, ensuring installation is on schedule and that quality standards are met.
  • You will be responsible for reporting progress to the Project / Construction Manager.
  • This role will involve travelling nationwide (including Ireland) as well as some international travel.
  • Experience in controlling multi-discipline teams (mechanical/electrical) within a construction environment.
  • Facilitate and attend all site meetings and produce relevant documentation that aligns with the Principal Contractor / Client / local suppliers
  • Plan delivery of materials, receipt of materials on site and storage
  • Input and review of RAMS and ensure implementation by the installation teams
  • Ensure an appropriate working environment in terms of safety and quality assurance
  • Responsible for the effective control of all site activities, including lifting and hot works. Assist with the preparation of work permits
  • Effective communication skills in this position are essential, as well as the ability to understand project schedules and provide accurate progress data to the project manager.

This role will involve travelling nationwide (including Ireland) as well as some international travel. As well as night work and weekend work where needed.

Qualifications

  • Ideally have an engineering background - HNC / HND or equivalent.
  • The candidate should have a broad knowledge of Health & Safety and have experience of installing Material Handling systems.
  • Relevant CSCS card, SSSTS or SMSTS (preferred), First Aid at Work, IPAF, IOSH or NEBOSH (preferred). Ideally should be in possession of an Airside security pass.
  • Effective Communication and planning skills.
  • Problem-solving skills.
  • Leadership & Teamwork
