Job Description

We have a great opportunity for an experienced Field Service Engineer to join our team focusing on Customer Support activities. We are looking for a self-starter to deliver the desired customer service experience. The goal is to drive service success that improves customer satisfaction.

Activities will include:

  • planned preventative maintenance as part of pre-agreed service contracts, this will involve changing out worn parts and checking associated components for wear and tear on both mechanical and electrical systems
  • produce timely and detailed service reports related to BEUMER sortation and material handling equipment
  • supporting installation projects, modernisations and warranty work
  • attend breakdowns with the ability to troubleshoot, test and repair technical equipment
  • operational and residential site cover
  • working individually and as part of a team on various customer sites around the UK
  • Low Level Controls: Siemens S7 PLC, TIA Portal, Profibus, ASi-Bus networks
  • populating RAMS related to the work to be undertaken
  • ensure H&S standards are adhered to

The Candidate

To be successful in your application you must have the following skills, abilities or qualifications:

  • proven field service experience with the ability to build positive relationships with customers
  • possess a high level of electrical/mechanical control knowledge and awareness 
  • have experience of or be able to quickly develop a working knowledge of Siemens S7 PLC, TIA Portal, Profibus, ASi-Bus networks
  • should have a broad knowledge of Material Handling systems
  • must have an electrical or multi-skilled qualification – ONC or Equivalent
  • must be able to fault find on electrical and mechanical systems to diagnose errors or technical problems and determine proper solutions
  • cooperate with technical team and share information across the organisation
  • comprehend customer requirements and make appropriate recommendations/briefings
  • must be willing to travel nationally and occasionally internationally

Qualifications

Additional Information

  • CSCS, First Aid, IOSH, IPAF qualifications would be an advantage
  • English literacy

Additional information

Flexibility will be required as there will be night, weekend work and some call-outs to suit the customer requirements.

  • Ideally the candidate will be situated in the Midlands or North West
