Job Description
To commission, modify, troubleshoot, and support related equipment at customers’ location or where needed, while ensuring that the highest quality of work is provided.
This position will be based at the Cincinnati/Northern Kentucky International Airport (CVG) for the duration of the initial project. Upon completion at CVG, the role will require travel to other domestic and international sites as needed. Candidates should anticipate travel commitments of up to 90% of the time thereafter.
Responsibilities
- Commissioning of automated controls for supplied or modified equipment in a timely and professional manner
- Design and execute on site acceptance test procedures with Test Manager
- Create and or review technical documentation for accuracy with Project/Test Manager
- Interpret circuit diagrams and layout drawings for installation and/or troubleshooting purposes
- Troubleshoot PLC programs written in Ladder and SCL.
- Handle, burn and restore EPROM’s and Ghost images
- Interface with BEUMER IT/ High Level Controls team during commissioning and troubleshooting in a professional manner
- Commission and test system interfaces with third-party equipment and sub-supplier systems to ensure full functionality, reliability, and compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and maintain an effective professional relationship with customers and/or project personnel
- Communicate commissioning/troubleshooting activities in a daily, weekly, or as requested format to the appropriate personnel in a timely and professional manner
- Provide O&M and Customer Training as needed
- Provide remote/ onsite support/troubleshoot off hours as needed
- Prepare for the project handover to Customer Support / Hotline
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned
Qualifications
Required Skills / Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited school
- Ability to interpret circuit diagrams
- Working knowledge of Siemens TIA-Portal, Ladder and SCL programs
- Ability to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues
- Remote software handling
- Basic database functionality
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Must be able to safely navigate and work in various physical environments, including:
- Climbing ladders and stairs
- Walking over uneven surfaces
- Working on narrow catwalks
- Performing tasks at heights exceeding six feet
- Working in hot and cold weather
- Lift up to 50 pounds
- Excellent time management ability
- Excellent Customer Service skills
- Leadership and Planning Abilities
- Works well within a team environment
- Must be able to pass a background check to obtain an airport security badge
- Valid Driver's License – Must be able to meet underwriting requirements
