Job Description

As an Electrical Engineer your main functions/tasks will be:


Participate in system design

  • Development of the detail engineering for conveyor baggage handling systems or parcel sortation systems.
  • Development of the electrical engineering part and the associated functional documentation electrical drawings, Electrical layouts, Procurement and product specifications.
  • Coordination of the electrical scope in projects.
  • Follow-up and compliance of the Machine Directive and Health & Safety regulations in electrical installations.
  • Coordination with clients, suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Working closely with the Mechanical and Control Engineers from the Engineering department.
  • Advice and reviews potential projects in the sales phase.
  • Coordinate interfaces for procurement items.

Participate in detailed design

  • Create / generate the equipment list as input for hard and software engineering.
  • Specify electrical equipment and peer review specifications of other engineers.
  • Coordinate and specify resale equipment (standard and special).
  • Archive electrical deliverables.
  • Create of manufacturing electrical layouts.

Organize supply

  • Define activity split up based on installation areas, PLC areas and model split-up.
  • If needed makes forecasts of necessary equipment.
  • Define and monitor electrical work packages.

Plan, report and lead a team

  • Regularly reports to PM or engineers.
  • Create detailed electrical planning from overall project planning and synchronize plan with other disciplines.
  • Lead layout engineer(s) and electrical engineer(s).

Support Site

  • Create and manage installation documentation.
  • Handle site problem reports, open points, etc.
  • Create extra material specifications when need it.
  • Supports the installation and commissioning teams on site when need it.
  • Processes as-built documentation from site.

Continuous improvement

  • Initiates improvements in content, process and tooling.
  • Feeds back lessons learned from the project into product, process and tooling.
  • Supports head of engineering department.
  • Tutors new engineers.

Qualifications

Desired skills and knowledge

As an Electrical Engineer within BEUMER Group Spain, we are looking for a person with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelors or master's degree in Electrical or equivalent.
  • Preferably working experience as project engineer, lead engineer or product engineer.
  • At least 3 years of experience in a similar position.
  • Ideally worked on integrated Automation Systems in the Manufacturing or Distribution Industries.
  • Preferably worked on Airport Baggage Handling or Logistic Systems Controls.
  • Strong skills in E-PLAN P8.
  • Skills in CAD programs (AutoCAD, PLM, PDM, etc.) and office computer systems.
  • Knowledge in SAP ECTR, Citrix, JIRA.
  • Knowledge of power distribution, E-stops systems, FieldBus systems, frequency converters, motors, control cabinets, cable installations, machine control techniques, automation, PLC as well as the Machinery Directive standards.
  • Strong language skills in English, both verbal and written, and a native/bilingual level of Spanish. German is a plus.
