BEUMER holds fifth place in the WirtschaftsWoche magazine ranking
Medium-sized companies are classified as backbone of the German economy. The magazine WirtschaftsWoche compiled a ranking depicting the 100 fastest growing medium-sized companies. BEUMER Group of Beckum managed to achieve one of the top places in this ranking. In its sector, the mechanical engineering company holds a leading position in the world market. This is a special recognition both for the employees in Beckum and those spread across the world.
With events such as the Ukraine crises, sanctions against Russia, skills shortage and Chinese companies, entering the international markets with their innovations, German medium-sized companies face many challenges. Only a very special breed of company can successfully confront the challenges of the world-wide competition. In the current edition (5/2015), the magazine WirtschaftsWoche lists 100 companies that, with an achieved turnover ranging between 50 million and 1 billion Euro over the past ten years, experienced the highest growth rates. The mechanical engineering company BEUMER of Beckum achieved the impressive fifth place.
In the year 2002, the intralogistcs supplier achieved a turnover of 104 million Euro, and in 2012 its turnover grew to almost 513 million Euro. This is an enormous growth rate of 493 percent. This success is not just a matter of chance. With innovative systems for intralogistics in the conveying and loading technology, the palletising and packaging technology as well as with sortation and distribution systems, BEUMER earned an excellent reputation on the world market. These solutions are applied in various industries such as cement, lime and gypsum, agricultural and mining industry, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, energy, food and beverage and also in airports. Baggage systems of BEUMER are in operation at the Frankfurt, Peking, Montreal and Singapore airport. Furthermore, the mechanical engineering company of Beckum successfully took advantage of globalisation opportunities by setting up a production facility in China, entering emerging markets and acquiring competitors in Denmark, India and the United States. At the same time, the family-owned company always has remained loyal to its German home.
For BEUMER the goal is not the short term profit, but the long term success. "However, that only works with excellently trained and motivated employees", says Dr. Christoph Beumer, Chairman and CEO of BEUMER Group. In addition, in all developments, the Group focuses on sustainability and evaluates it systematically for every product and every new development. "The challenge is in linking product performance and responsibility for man and the environment, thereby establishing a new standard of quality", explains Dr. Beumer.
