BEUMER
An industrial PLC (BEUMER Sorter Control - BSC ) controls every function related to the machinery. This real-time system, incorporating worldwide maintenance service, executes each of the control commands for all of the mechanical components of BEUMER Group sorters and their peripheral equipment (induction units, scanners, destinations) and processes the signals from various sensors and monitoring units. The BEUMER sorter control contains decentralised input and output devices that are networked using a standardised fieldbus. The BEUMER Sortation System (BeSS) is a Windows server that forms part of the upper control level of the sorting process.

Crisplant
The Crisplant system controller software is a control solution developed for sortation systems within post, parcel and distribution centres. Through a user-friendly interface, it allows the operator to have detailed access and control of both the sorter and the logistics. By using the control module, the operator gains a full view of the mechanical sorting equipment with easy access to the machine controls. When working in the logistics module, the operator has complete view and administration of the routing of items and the track and trace functions. This includes the facility to partition the sorter and use separate sort plans for each partition to further increase the sorter peak capacity. In addition, the application allows the operators to make changes to a sort plan to configure the CSC and sorter for a specific production.
The Crisplant system controller software utilises standardised software built from field-tested and proven modules of the Crisplant Software Suite™ covering all material handling requirements. The system is fully redundant with the ability to re-establish and maintain CSC functionality in case of hardware failure.
